The UNA SF COO
is participating in the UNA
Voices of Humanity.
The genders and generations of humanity transcend the
national and religious boundaries. If we could give a voice to
youth, a voice to women, to men, to the middle-aged and seniors,
each of these groupings would tell us, in a kindly way, to get
our act together. And we would listen!
We dont really want to live in
fear of each other and maybe blow
up our planet. We dont want to kill off the wild animals
or use our limited resources foolishly or take dangerous chances
with global warming. Its time to cooperate and be smart.
Thats what the voice of humanity-as-one would tell us in
collective conversation with the genders and ages.
The good news
is that we can implement the Voices of Humanity, and it is not
that hard to do using crowdsourcing techniques. The UNA
Voices of Humanity is a prototype that works.
Please take two minutes to read the top message from the still-in-progress
first round of the UNA Gender / Generation Crosstalk. To get
things started, we are writing a message to the Executive Director
of UN Women, Dr Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka. Here is the top message
so far, please click in and read it: Gender
Equality - a stand alone goal.
If you liked that, then please read more

with this fabulous document.
The national UNA-USA Council of Organizations (COO) operates as part of the United
Nations Association of the USA, a program of the UN Foundation.
The Council is a coalition of nongovernmental organizations (NGOs)
and local groups of organizations with interests in education,
social justice, labor, sustainable development, human rights,
health, women's issues and the like. COO members share the common
goals of making the American public more knowledgeable about
global issues and strengthening the US - UN relationship.
- San Francisco Chapter
along with other SF Bay Area organizations are in the process
of co-creating the UNA San Francisco Council of Organizations,
and are working to establish collaborative partnerships in support
of the vital work of the United Nations in cooperation with affiliated
organizations' unique missions and goals. Greater coordination
at the metro level is the coming thing and by being an early
adopter and leader for a grand Bay Area coalition of civil society,
business and government, the UNA-SF COO will exert maximum influence
towards a win-win world to succeed the win-lose world of our
failing nation-state system.
The goals of the Council

UN to Council members in order to inform their respective stakeholders
about the UN.
Build Community: To enable organizations to network
amongst themselves and create synergies;
